I was treated like a criminal, Nurse who returned yesterday from treating Ebola patients in Sierra Leone

American nurse Kaci Hickox who arrived Liberty Newark Airport in New Jersey yesterday from Sierra Leone said she was treated like a common criminal at the airport.

Kaci was a nurse with Doctors without Borders in Sierra Leone.  One of the countries hardest hit by the Ebola crises.

On arriving at the airport she said she met a scene of chaos and suspicion, where officials left her in the dark and forcefully bundled her into an emergency motorcade to a hospital.

At the University Hospital in Newark, Kaci tested negative to the Ebola virus, but must remain under quarantine for the next three weeks under the new laws.

It follows widespread concern about how Dr. Craig Spencer who was also working in West Africa for Doctors without Borders, arrived New York and was working freely for a week until it emerged that he has contracted the Ebola virus.
