Mrs. Pauline Ukah, 32 years, has asked the customary court at Alagbado Lagos to dissolve her nine years marriage to her husband citing irresponsibility as the main reason.
She said her husband from the inception of the marriage was in the habit of beating her and has also taken away the only son of the marriage under the pretence of taking him to visit his home town, doesn't contribute to the upkeep of the entire family and is extremely diabolical.
In his response, the husband, Charles said all what his wife said was true but that the problem they are having has to do with the fact that his wife doesn't have any cordial relationship with his family. He also said he cannot sleep with her because she confessed to have slept with a man who tried processing American visas for the family. And that it is against his tradition to sleep with a wife who has committed adultery. He also said she has been asked to go for cleansing.
Mr. Olubode Sekoni, the president of the court adjourned the case till November 3 for further hearing.
