Authorities have come out to say Dr. Craig Spencer, the first Ebola patient to be diagnosed in New York City initially lied about his travels around the city following his return from Africa where he was treating Ebola patients.
He was said to have initially informed authorities that he isolated himself in his Harlem apartment upon his arrival from Africa. But did not mention that he rode the subways, dined out and went bowling until cops reviewed his Metro and credit cards statement and found out that Dr. Spencer went up, down and all around New York City.
Spencer finally owned up when police on the phone had to rely questions to him through the Health Department. Officials then retraced Spencer’s steps, which included dining at The Meatball Shop in Greenwich Village and bowling at The Gutter in Brooklyn.
