Creator of the cartoon ''The Simpsons", who is dying is giving away $100million

Co-creator of the cartoon character ''The Simpsons"', Sam Simon, 59, who was diagnosed with terminal colon cancer in 2012 will be donating his fortune of $100million to his passion - animal rights which is part of the causes he cares about.
 
Given just three months to live in 2012, he decided to team up with the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), dedicating his life to the rescue of maltreated animals and conservation.
 
Simon who acknowledged that his doctors had done an incredible job keeping him up till now says in reality Cancer is a horrible disease.  But at the same time an amazing experience of his life.  He says he is surrounded daily by loved ones who truly care for him.  He said,   ''Somehow I ended up surrounded by people who loved me and take care of me and will do anything for me.  That is called happiness.  I think I may have had problem letting it in before.  Cancer has been a fight, a journey, an adventure and the most amazing experience of my life.

 

Simon has no children and he is not married.  He was married to actress Jennifer Tilly in 1980 but divorced in 1981.
 
He created the hit cartoon The Simpsons alongside Matt Groening in 1991.  Despite him being retired from The Simpsons since 1993, he still receives tens of millions in royalties every season.
