''I'm sorry'' Madonna apologises for posting altered images of Martin Luther, Nelson Mandela to promote her new album

In a statement on her official facebook page, Madonna have apologise for posting on her instagram page photos of Martin Luther King Jr. and Nelson Mandela that were altered to look like her own image on her new album.  She said ''I am not comparing myself to anyone.  I'm admiring and acknowledging their rebel hearts.''

The picture on the cover of her new album ''Rebel Heart'' is a close-up of her face with black string on it.  On her social media she also showed the faces of Martin Luther and Mandela doctored to make them appear as though they have similar string on their faces.  Some of her fans considered these alterations offensive.

She has since stated that she was not comparing herself to them and that the images were fan-generated.
