A teenager, Wasila Tasi'u, 14, who is alleged to have killed her husband and three of his friends in April 2014, failed to utter a word yesterday during her trial in court.
The case which is being held at the Gezawa High Court, Kano and has attracted the attention of human rights community was stalled when the suspect bluntly refused to utter a word.
Consequently, Justice Muhammed Yahaya, the presiding judge had to enter a plea of ''Not Guilty"' on her behalf.
Wasila, who look very agitated is accused of killing her husband and three of his friends by adding rat poison to their food. According to the police report, her action was in protest of her being married off to the man at such a young age.
The case has been adjourned to November 26 and 27 for further hearing.
