A teacher rapes a 6-year-old girl in a school in Bangalore

A teacher in Bangalore, India has been arrested for raping a 6-year-old girl at a public school.  This is coming just one week after a nursery student was allegedly raped at a different school in the same city.

Jaishankar, 37, was arrested last night after the little girl complained of pains in her genital to her mother.  She was taken to a doctor who confirmed she had been sexually assaulted.  The mother then reported to the school.

When asked, the girl revealed that Jaishankar (who also have a daughter in the same school) took her into the bathroom and abused her twice, on October 28 and 29.

The police said they are still questioning the teacher based on their investigations so far.

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said cases such as this are taking place particularly in private schools.  And that they have issued out circulars to private schools to be more vigilant.  He said this is the fourth case in the city since July.

Last week, a 3-year-old nursery school student was sexually assaulted in another Bangalore school.

In July, two gym instructors at the Vibgyor International School were arrested and charged with the gang raping of a 6-year-old girl.

And in August, a 63-year-old man was accused of stripping a girl and molesting her.  He confessed to have abused 7 little girls in 45 days.
