120 APC Lawmakers sign notice to impeach President Jonathan

More than 120 APC lawmakers have signed an impeachment notice to remove President Jonathan in December as soon as the house reconvenes, as a result of the fracas which took place at the National Assembly on Thursday.

The Deputy House Leader, Leo Ogor, asked lawmakers to drop such ambition stating that President Jonathan had no hand in what transpired at the National Assembly.  That the notice of impeachment was therefore inconsequential and will be defeated if eventually brought up.  He said ''The President is unaware of the happenings here at the National Assembly, so bringing up the issue of impeachment is going to be defeated.  The President has done no wrong, impeachment should not even be part of the issue.''

Also action by angry lawmakers to move impeachment against Emeka Ihedioha, Deputy Speaker of the house was immediately averted by the Speaker who called for calmness.
