President Scott of Zambia suspended as party leader

Zambia ruling Patriotic Front Party today suspended the its acting president Guy Scott as acting head of the party citing unconstitutional conduct and for abrogating the party's constitution.
 
The party is divided over the contest to replace Scott with supporters of Edgar Lungu.  Scott want the party's candidate to be pick by the 53-member committee and also a vote by a general conference made up of thousands of delegates.  He was due to meet with the central committee tomorrow to decide on the selection process.
 
 

The Acting President, had fired the party's secretary General, Lungu but reinstated him a day after without giving any reason.
 
Scott who was the Deputy Vice President to Sata became the Acting President when Sata died in a London hospital.  He was aged 77 years.
