24 suspected migrants from Afghanistan and Syria where found dead after a boat conveying them sank of the coast of Istanbul Turkey.
Coast guards, helicopters, police vessels are scanning the sea for more survivors. it is not yet clear how many people were on the boat. The coast guard reported that 24 dead bodies have so far been recovered and seven survivors rescued.

It is also not clear what might have caused the vessel to sink. Up to 40 persons are believed to have been on board, many of them children.
Authorities are still trying to ascertain where the vessel had set sail from. The boat was said to have issued a distress call early this morning about three miles north of the Bosphorus Strait in the Black sea.
