The defence authorities are investigating the activities of these personnel in relation to the fighting and capturing of these communities.  They stated that the tactical withdrawals of the soldiers from their duty posts was a show of cowardice.

The insurgents were said to have burnt Badeh's residence, a clinic and civic centre in the community last Thursday.

The military are also interested in finding out why Boko Haram advances have increased of recent.

There was a gruelling encounter yesterday with the insurgents at Bladeba close to Mubi.  But the Nigerian army were able to take some of the check points captured by the insurgents.
