Bodybuilder to spend 6 months in jail for false claim of disability

A former Mr. Wales who claimed Pound 28,232 for disability benefits while competing in body building will be spending the next six months in jail.

Mr. Peter Beddoe claimed he was too weak to walk but visited the gym on a daily basis and competed in several competitions all over the country. Despite the fact he claimed not to be able to walk, he was found to have visited the gym 1,100 times and used weight in training.

The 2009 South Coast Bodybuilding Champion was receiving a higher rate of disability allowance meant for people who cannot walk.

Mr. Beddoe pleaded guilty to two charges of making dishonest representations to claim benefits.  He said ''Everyone exaggerates their claims".
