Boko Haram used the cease-fire deal to re-strategize - Mike Ejiofor, former SSS Boss

According to Mike Ejiofor, former Director State Security Service, Boko Haram only used the period of the cease-fire to re-strategize and regroup.

He further stated that the Nigerian government mishandled the cease-fire arrangement, that such should not have been considered in the first place owing to the fact that the Boko Haram sect threatened to Islamise the whole of Nigeria.

He agreed that the state of emergency in the far North Eastern states should be extended but at the same time worried about conducting the next forth coming elections in these states which presently are being ravaged by the insurgents.

Despite a botched cease-fire agreement which also involved the Chadian President Idris Derby, and also a recorded second attempt at a dialogue with the terrorists Ejiofor said ''government should go all out to flush out Boko Haram.''  Adding that government should only agree to a cease-fire arrangement only when such is initiated by the insurgents.
