Four worshippers killed, as terrorists attack a Jerusalem Synagogue

Two Palestinians attacked a Synagogue where worshippers were praying with knives, axes and guns, leaving four persons dead and six others injured including two police officers.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said Israel will retaliate.  He called the attack ''a cruel murder of Jews who came to pray and were killed by despicable murderers'.''

Police spokesperson said the attackers were Palestinians from East Jerusalem.  Tension is currently brewing in Jerusalem over series of attacks by the Palestinians against the Israelis.

Last week, US Secretary of State, John Kerry held a meeting with Benjamin Netanyahu to try and find ways to restore calm after months of violent confrontations surrounding a sacred shrine holy to both the Jews and the Muslims.

Prime Minister Netanyahu have blamed the violence on incitements by the Islamic group Hamas and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.

In a statement, Hamas praised the Synagogue attack and said it is a ''heroic act'' and a response to continued Israeli crimes, killings and desecrating of al-Aqsa (mosque).
