Jerusalem Synagogue attack update, the four dead Rabbis are a Briton and three Americans

It has been confirmed that a British and three American citizens were the four people killed today by two Palestinian terrorists armed with axes and guns who attacked a Synagogue full of worshippers.

Rabbi Avraham Shmuel Goldberg, 68, a grandfather, was born in Liverpool and held a dual British-Israeli passport.  He was described by friends as a wonderful person and a pillar of the community.

Others killed in the attack are Rabbi Moshe Twersky, Rabbi Avieh Kopinsky, 43, and Rabbi Calman Levine, all Americans.

After the attack, Palestinians were said to have celebrated on the streets throwing stones and posing with weapons used in the attack.  The attackers have been named as Uday and Rassan Abu Jamah, both in their 20s and cousins.

Pictures posted online reveal the horror of the attack, showing a bloodied meat cleaver at the scene along with heavily blood stained floors and bodies covered with shawls.

The two attackers, Uday and Rassan Abu Jamah are said to be close relatives of a Hamas terrorist who was released in 2011 as part of the exchange deal for the captured soldier Gilad Shalit.
