Uneasiness has descended on Umuarlam Community in Obowo Local Government Area of Imo State. Following the murder of Madukaku Oguh (47) by his elder brother Aligwekwe Oguh.
Aligwekwe was said to have butchered his younger brother with a sharp machete after which he disappeared from the community.
According to eye witness report, the deceased had a confrontation with his elder brother and wife. The assailant's wife, Linda, was said to have accused the deceased of starring at her suspiciously. This issue led to an argument with Linda raising curses on the deceased.
When the insult from Linda became too much, the deceased was said to have threateningly brandished a small knife before Linda threatening to use it on her.
Aligwekwu, Linda''s husband who was close by with a machete, dealt cuts on his younger brother with the machete. The deceased tried to run away from his brother but could not go far due to the loss of blood.
He suddenly slumped and was rushed to the hospital but died shortly after.
