A man who tried to plant explosives at the headquarters of Gombe Transport Line was today lynched and set on fire by an angry mob who piled used tires on him.
The suspect it was learnt carried the bomb in his bag and was waiting to enter the Gombe Motor Park at about 1.00pm. Due to his suspicious movement, vigilant people at the park accosted him. Suspicion grew when he refused to open the bag, and tried to walk out of the park. He was prevented and the bag forcefully searched and the explosives were discovered inside.
The angry mob pounced on the suspect and in the process found other explosives on his clothes. He was set ablaze and in the process the explosives on his body went off.
The Gombe bus station was precisely bombed on 31 October, 2014 killing nine people and injured many others. Kudu Abdullah Nma, Gombe State Commissioner of Police confirmed the incident.
