INEC have given the presidential and national assembly aspirants the go ahead to commence their campaigns from November 16, 2015. While that of governorship and state house of assembly will start theirs from 30 November 2015.
This action is in line with the electoral timetable released by the commissions and in keeping with the 90 days provision.
The Chief Press Secretary of the Commission, Kayode Idowu, yesterday in Abuja while commenting on the issue affirmed the fact that the commission had put every arrangement in place for the monitoring of the elections.
The commission also stated the maximum amount each aspirant can incur as electoral expenses. Senatorial aspirants N40million, House of Representative N20million, State House of Assemble N10million. That of the governorship aspirant was put at N200million and Presidency N500million.
He also said the electoral expenses of a political party shall be submitted to the commission in a separate audited return within 6 months. And such should be signed by the party auditors and counter signed by the party chairman.
