President Jacob Zuma of South Africa to answer corruption charges

The South African President, Jacob Zuma is presently under investigation for his role in excessive refurbishment of his personal estate using public funds.  This was confirmed by parliamentary lawmakers today.

This comes after a South African prosecutor published a report in March 2014 accusing the president of benefiting unduly from security upgrades at this residence and should therefore be made to pay back a total of $24million.

The president has denied knowledge of the upgrade. Instead he has put the responsibility on the architect who handled the project.

Upgrades in the residence is said to include, a modern amphitheatre, a chicken run, swimming pool and a private clinic
