We refuse to sell some equipment to Nigeria due to concerns about the ability of the Nigerian Army to use them - US government

The United States have stated  the reasons why it refused to sell certain military hard ware such as the Cobra helicopter to the Nigerian army.
 
This explanation became necessary after Ambassador Adebowale Adefuye took the US by surprise and accused them of deliberately failing to assist Nigeria to fight the Boko Haram insurgents.  Saying the Nigerian government was not satisfied with the scope, nature and content of the US support for the struggle against the terrorists.
 
 

Jen Psaki, the State Department spokeswoman however denied such, saying since the capture of the more than 200 school girls by Boko Haram, Washington had shared several intelligence with the Nigerian army and have held high-level talks on the threat of Boko Haram.
 
She did acknowledged the fact that the US government refused selling some Cobra helicopters to the Nigerian army out of concerns about their ability to us them.  And also on going concerns about the Nigerian army protection of civilians when conducting operations.
 
She  also said the US will not raise such concerns if they were not warranted.  She advised the Nigerian government to investigate allegations of abuses.
