Nigeria is the 136th Most Corrupt Country in the world

According to the corruption index for 2014 released yesterday Nigeria was ranked the 136th most corrupt country in the world with 27 points and 3rd in West Africa after Guinea and Guinea Bissau.
 
Transparency International surveyed 174 countries based on how corrupt their public sector is presumed to be.  The measurement is based on a scale of 0-100 with a score of 0 being the lowest (most corrupt) and 100 being the least corrupt.
 
This 2014 ranking is the best attained by Nigeria so far under the Goodluck Jonathan's administration.
 

Nigeria was ranked 144 in 2013, 139 in 2012 and 143 in 2011.  With the 2014 ranking, Nigeria improved or moved eight places as against that of 2013.
 
Denmark took the number one position as the least corrupt country scoring 92 points.  Botswana took the number one position in Africa as the least corrupt and the 31st in the world while South Africa was ranked 67th most corrupt nation in the World.
 
North Korea and Somalia shared the last two places on the table as the worst corrupt nations of the world
