Pastor Ola
Adejubee, Poastor-In-Charge RCCG Lagos Province 12 while fielding questions during
the press conference to announce the Annual Holy Ghost Congress said
politicians will be kept at arm’s length during the programme. But he however said, President Jonathan if he
chooses to attend will be allowed to address his subjects, not necessarily to
campaign.
He said, “The
church is for everybody. Members of all political parties are members of this
church. Everything will be done for the congress not to be turned into a
campaign ground.
We have a reputation to protect and I want to
assure the public that the platform provided by the congress will be used for
the edification of the church and not political campaigns.
“However, the
point must be made that if the President attends, it will be our duty as
citizens of Nigeria to allow him address his people, not necessarily for
campaigns.
But surely,
politicians will be kept at arm’s length in order for the people of God not to
be distracted.”
Adejubee said
efforts were on to address the traffic situation that always occur during such
events, adding that the roads within the camp had been expanded to accommodate
more vehicles
This year’s
congress, which is themed, ‘The Good Shepherd,’ will hold from Monday, December
8, to Sunday, December 14.
