Balotelli may face a ban for his racist and anti-semitic comments on social media

Liverpool's Mario Balotelli has been charged by the FA over alleged racist comments which he posted on his instagram page.  Balotelli posted the Nintendo character super Mario with the words ''jump like a black man and grab coins like a Jew.''

 

With outcry from other social media users, Balotelli quickly deleted the post and tendered an apology saying, ''I apologise if I have offended anyone.  The post was meant to be anti-racist with a sense of humour.''  ''I understand that out of contest it may have the opposite effect.''  ''Not all Mexican have moustaches, not all black people jump high and not all Jewish people love money.''

 

The minimum FA punishment for offences such as this is five match ban.  And Balotelli has up until December 15 to respond to the charges.
