Jim Nwobodo refused his late son to be buried in the family compound

The decision on where to bury his late son, the late Dr. Ifeanyichukwu Nwobodo set the former governor on a war path with the people of Amechi, Nkanu West Local Government Area of Enugu State.

Crisis stated in the early hours of yesterday when news came in that the corpse of the late Dr. Ifeanyichukwu had disappeared mysteriously from the mortuary where it was kept.

Sources said, trouble erupted when the former governor, Jim Nwobodo insisted that the deceased will be buried outside the family house on the ground that he lost every right as a son by dying before his father.

But members of the family and Awkunanaw youths said the deceased have to be buried in the family house.  Due to the deadlock, it was learnt that some unidentified people went straight for the corpse at the mortuary.

For several hours, dignitaries who came including former governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi, Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu and many others waited but had to leave when an agreement could not be reached.

This made the Archbishop of Enugu Anglican Communion Church, Most Rev. Dr. Emmanuel Chukwuma to hold a meeting with the warring parties.  After several hours, the Archbishop volunteered that the late Dr. ifeanyichukwu should be buried at the St Mathew's Anglican Church Amechi Awkunanaw.
