Professor Benedict Ayade is the consensus governorship candidate for PDP in Cross River State

The Vice-Chairman of the Senate Committee on Environment and Ecology, Professor Benedict Ayade, has emerged the consensus governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Cross River State.

Ayade emerged as the choice of the party after other governorship aspirants stepped down for him at a protracted meeting at Peregrino Hall, Government Lodge, Calabar.

The meeting which lasted into the early hours of this morning was presided over by the State Governor, Liyel Imoke.

Ayade’s choice as the consensus candidate came barely 48 hours to the party’s governorship primaries billed for Monday , December 8 in all Nigeria’s 36 states
