Australia is the first country to ban all travellers from Ebola ravaged countries

Australia becomes the first country to ban all travellers from the three West African countries presently being ravaged by Ebola.

The Australian Immigration Minister, Scott Morrison told parliament that government was cancelling all non-permanent and temporary visas for people from Sierra Leone, Liberia and Guinea.  And will also require all permanent visa holders coming from these countries to undergo a mandatory 21-day quarantine upon their return to Australia.

Prime Minister Tony Abbot had refused to send health workers to West Africa to help out with the epidemic stating that Australia is too far for a direct medical evacuation.

Health workers coming from West Africa who do not voluntarily submit themselves for quarantine will be made to face stricter sanctions he stated.
