Amber Vinson, the second Dallas nurse who contracted the Ebola virus after treating Liberian Thomas Eric Duncan is now free from the virus and will be leaving the Atlantic Hospital where she has been under going treatment.
She will give a press statement later today announcing her discharge. Vinson was diagnosed with the virus exactly two weeks ago.
Amber Vinson and Nina Pham both contracted the disease after treating the first index Ebola case to be diagnosed in the US, Thomas Eric Duncan who had symptoms after flying from Liberia to Texas in September, was admitted at the Dallas Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital but died October 8.
Nina Pham the second nurse was discharged from the hospital on Friday and met with President Obama at the White House before returning home.
Ebola has killed more than 4,900 people, mostly in Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea, in what health officials call the worst outbreak of the disease in history.
