150 Nigerian Teachers stranded in Sierra Leone, Liberia and other West African countries

It was gathered that approximately 150 Nigerian teachers in Sierra Leone, Cote D'Ivoire and Liberia have resulted to self help and finding their way into Nigeria after calls to the Federal Government of Nigeria to evacuate them form the Ebola ravaged countries have yielded no result.
 
The teachers are said to be part  of the group sent on a 2-year programme to Sierra Leone, Cote D'Ivoire, Liberia and other west African countries under the Nigerian Aids Corps Programme which is coordinated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.  The teachers are specialists in mathematics, English and other sciences.
 
 

According to sources, most of the teachers have been unable to return back since their programme ended in October.  Some of them have resulted to self help by entry the country through Ghana, Tunisia and Morocco.
 
Furthermore, it is gathered that those returning back just unite with their families without undergoing any medical test or being quarantined.
 
The source said the Nigerian embassy advised them to keep a low profile while maintaining high hygiene level.  And that they were still awaiting directives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
 
They have also sent an SOS to President Goodluck Jonathan to help evacuate them from the Ebola countries.
