The Federal High Court sitting in Lagos today discharge and acquitted Chief Femi Fani-Kayode of thirty Eight count charge bordering on money laundering out of the forty counts filed against him.
The presiding judge, Rita Ofili Ajumogobia while appraising the submission of the prosecution said the (persecution) failed woefully to prove beyond reasonable doubt the offense in thirty eight counts.
Fani-Kayode was therefore asked to re-enter his defence again for count twenty five and twenty six.
Fani-Kayode was brought before the court by the EFCC on 40 count charge bordering on alleged offenses of transacting business without going through the proper financial institutions.
He was first arraigned in court in December 2008 before Justice Ramat Mohammed.
The case have been adjourned till December 8, when Fani-Kayode is expected to open his defence in the two remaining counts.
